Week ending September 4th:

The warm summer weather is continuing.  The week starts out with the days in the 80's with cooling to the low 70's overnight.  By mid-week the daytime temperatures are in the low 70's with overnight temps in the low 60's.  There are a few trees that have started to change to fall colours.

Walleyes are in transition and are moving from shallow reefs to the weeds.  There is no consistency to where the muskies are located;  they are being caught everywhere.  While fishing one evening, guide Bryan raised two muskies right off the dock at Duck Bay within a few minutes of each other.  One was low-to-mid 40's and the other was smaller.  The next night he caught a different muskie off the dock, and it was 49 inches;  his personal best!  Some of the other nice catches are:

Jeff Fisher (Miltona, MN), a 26 inch walleye
Elizabeth Cordero (Stateline, NV), a 29 ½ inch northern (pictured above)
Duck Bay guide Bryan, a 38 inch northern and 42 inch muskie.

Week ending August 28th:

This week starts out like last week with very high winds that subsided in a few days.  The temperatures all week were in the 70's and 80's.  This is unusually warm weather for late August so we suggest that if your trip is coming up soon, you prepare for both warm and cold weather.  Some of this week's catches are:

Seth's first muskie

Seth Weaver (Fort Myers, FL).  On his first trip to Canada, Seth caught a 36 inch muskie (pictured), a 27 inch walleye and 36 inch northern.  This is the first time he has ever fished for any of these species, so he surely got some real beauties!

Lowell Weaver (Fort Myers Beach, FL), 38, 36, 35 and 30 inch muskies;  as well two 34 inch and a 33 inch northern pike.  On the last day of his trip Lowell caught 3 muskies - a 40, 39 and 38 inch!
Tom Carey (Gilbert, MN), a 30 inch muskie;  his first ever
Bonnie Kearney (Racine, WI), a 17 inch smallmouth bass
Jon Gabrelcik (Montrose, MN), a 25 inch walleye
Jeff Fisher (Miltona, MN), a 32 inch northern
Jim Kearney (Racine, WI), a 38 inch muskie;  his first ever
Dewey Johnson (Fresno, CA), a 17 inch smallmouth bass
Al Lange (Rock Rapids, IA), a 24 inch walleye.

Week ending August 21st:

The week starts out with a couple of days of high winds.  This really limited the fishing spots fishermen could use.  In spite of that, some nice fish were caught and by mid-week the winds have died down.  Daytime temperatures at the beginning of the week were in the 60's and overnight temperatures were in the low 50's.  By the end of the week, the temperatures were in the 80's with overnight temperatures in the 70's.  Very unusual weather for late August.  Some of this week's nice catches are:

Duck Bay guide Bryan, a 36 inch northern and 18 inch walleye
Kevin Duffy (Clarendon Hills, IL), a 41 ½ inch muskie
Eric Schaaf (Sugar Grove, IL), a 47 ½ inch muskie and 26 inch walleye
Jan Kluck (Marshalltown, IA), a 25 inch walleye
Ileen Lindner (Warroad, MN), a 20 inch walleye
Harry Horak (Warrenville, IL), a 24 inch walleye
Seth Weaver (Fort Myers, FL), a 30 inch northern.

Week ending August 14th:

The week starts out with daytime temperatures in the 80's.  The last few nights the overnight temperature has dropped into the high 50's and low 60's making the weather seem a bit like fall.  But what a welcome relief after the hot days!

Walleyes are being found on the reefs in 18 - 24 feet of water.  The biggest walleyes are being found on sandy points in 12 - 14 feet of water.  Our muskie fishermen are having action;  guest Mike Flynn during his 2 week trip to Duck Bay raised 88, boated 16 with 6 of them being 40 inches or better and had another 12 hooked but not boated.  Some of this week's other nice catches are:
