Fishing report: August 7 - 13

Guide report: Walleye are in 26 - 30 feet of water on mid-lake humps and rock points. Northern pike are being found in lily pads; hot lures are Mepps #5 and #6 and white spinnerbaits. Muskie are on rock piles; bright colors are attracting them. Bass are on shorelines with boulders and being caught in 6 - 10 feet of water; crank baits in crawfish patterns are productive.

Ed Kizer (Omaha, NE), 24 and 22 inch walleyes and 37 inch muskie
Lowell Weaver (Fort Myers Beach, FL), a 35 inch northern
Phoenix Father (Winnipeg, MB), a 36 inch northern and a 19 inch smallmouth bass

Matthew Jacob (Des Moines, IA), a 42 inch muskie (his first muskie ever), 36 inch northern and a 26 inch walleye

Alex Trautman (Lake Benton, MN), a 34 inch northern, 18 inch smallmouth bass and 35 ½ inch muskie; one day Alex raised a 42 inch muskie and had him following the figure-8 a number of times but just wouldn't bite. Guide Jimmy threw out a black spinnerbait and it grabbed that. So a good team effort!
