Fishing report: June 18 - 24

Muskie season opened this past weekend. For opening day our relentless wind of last week died right down; a mix of sun and cloud made it a great day.
Fishing report from Duck Bay guides Jimmy and Sam: walleyes are on mid-lake humps and reefs in 20 - 30 feet of water, pink, orange or chartreuse jigs are working well. Northern pike are hanging around in the mouth of bays and shorelines with exiting bags; orange spoons and Mepps are productive. Muskie are being found in tall cabbage weeds and on points.

Duck Bay guide Jimmy, a 50 ½ inch muskie
Kevin Moran (Omaha, NE), a 22 ½ inch walleye
Nancy Dreissiger (Chanhassen, MN), a 19 ½ inch walleye
Randy Beinhorn (Cushing, MN), a 36 ½ inch muskie, his first muskie ever
7 year old Oliver DeRuyck (Afton, MN), a 19 inch walleye and 17 inch smallmouth
Steve Dorgan and 7 year old son Jaden (Afton, MN), together landed a 37 inch northern; Jaden also got an 18 inch walleye
Darrell DeRuyck (Afton, MN), a 17 inch smallmouth
Danny Polachek (St. Paul, MN), 42 ½ and 36 inch muskies and a 21 inch walleye
Herb Polachek (Golden Valley, MN), 25 ½ and 20 inch walleyes
