Fishing report: July 2 - 8

Our "Fishing with Grandpa" group (the Lohmiller / Catton families) have fished at Duck Bay 18 years. First John (grandpa) and his wife Penny spent a few years here, then they began bringing their children and grandchildren. This is a family who all love to fish! You'll see some of the larger ones they caught in last weeks' blog.
Fishing report from Duck Bay guides Jimmy and Sam: walleyes are on rock points in 20 - 30 feet of water, ¼ ounce jigs in either pink, orange or yellow are working best. Northern pike are on shorelines entering weedy bays; Mepps #5 in any color is producing. Bass are being found on rock piles; crank baits in crawfish color are hot. Muskies are in weed and rock and spinnerbaits with gold blades are attracting their attention.
